Pride of Jersey Awards 2017

Our search is once again on to find those Islanders who make Jersey such a special place in which to live. The Pride of Jersey awards, which is now an important annual event on the Island calendar, is split into 12 categories, each one of them celebrating the very essence of Jersey life.

Celebrating everyone from grandparents and neighbours to community champions and teachers, the awards’ aim is to mark some of the wonderful day-to-day activities and achievements of Islanders who continue to go that extra mile for their community.

And in order to keep the community at the heart of the awards, Islanders will be asked to nominate potential winners and be involved in the voting and judging, via the newspaper and online.

The categories for the awards are: Ambassador of the Year, Volunteer/Fundraiser of the Year, Grandparent(s) of the Year, Community Champion(s) of the Year, Environmentalist(s) of the Year, Jersey Angel of the Year, Teacher of the Year, Young Achiever of the Year, Customer Service Employee of the Year, Child of the Year, Neighbour of the Year and Inspirational Leader of the Year.

The JEP has also teamed up with an exclusive group of local businesses who have each become official partners for the 12 different categories. Each has chosen a category which is relevant to them and each will be putting up a prize worth £1,000 for their chosen winners. From retail to finance, each of them has a particular reason they want to be involved in this prestigious event.

Nomination forms are being regularly printed in the JEP, which can either be handed in or posted back to the JEP. Alternatively, you can click on the 'nominate' section of the website or click here and submit your entry online. Nomination entries close on Saturday 24th June.

Jersey is a special place in which to live and that is due, in no small part, to the wonderful people in our community. It is now time to give these Islanders a well-deserved thank you and we very much hope that you will take this opportunity to help us celebrate the Island's Pride in Jersey Awards 2017.
