VOTING opened on Tuesday 18 July and thousands of votes have already been recieved.
Over the past few months, the JEP has been flooded with nominations across all 12 categories, including ones for outstanding neighbours, inspirational children and giving volunteers.
All of the nominees have appeared in the paper, with the public voting having opened at 12 noon on Tuesday 18 July and will then close at 11:59 pm on Friday 28 July.
With over 200 nominations being received, it will be time for the public to choose who they think is the most deserving candidate within each of the 12 categories.
The three nominees with the most votes for each category are then judged by an expert panel of sponsor representatives, JEP employees and last year's winner of each award.
The Pride of Jersey awards will then be held on Sunday 17 September at a location which will be revealed soon.
The key dates for the awards are as follows:
Deputy Editor of the JEP Carl Walker said: 'We encourage everyone to read the remarkable stories of the nominees as they appear in the paper and then remember their outstanding contributions for when voting opens as it is so important for all the excellent grandparents, teachers and leaders to be recognised for their contributions to our community. The finalists receive an exclusive invitation to the awards day and the winner for each of the categories then receives £1,000 from their sponsor as a thank you for their stand-out work.'
Jersey is a special place in which to live and that is due, in no small part, to the wonderful people in our community. It is now time to give these Islanders a well-deserved thank you and we very much hope that you will take this opportunity to help us celebrate the Pride of Jersey Awards 2017.
